Job Description
Under the general direction of the Parks Admin Project Manager, the Services Coordinator supports departmental operations through communications, social media, marketing, public engagement, and administrative assistance. This position develops and coordinates public awareness efforts, supports program outreach, assists with administrative tasks, and serves as a liaison for community groups and the Parks Board. Report directly to the Parks Admin Project Manager. Manage and maintain the department's web pages, calendars, newsletter, and social media platforms; ensure all digital content adheres to WCAG accessibility standards; coordinate with local news media for both in -kind and paid coverage. Provide media interviews as needed and maintain media training. Develop and compose various publications, including brochures, mail-outs, newspaper articles, and public service announcements. Coordinate a yearly Park and Recreation Month marketing and event campaign. Serve as the primary liaison between the Parks Department and Communications for public relations, marketing, and messaging needs. Prepare and present special reports as needed. Draft business plans and review business processes as needed. Serve as a coordinator and liaison for citizen groups involved in park-related programs and activities; oversee memorial programs. Oversee the department's special committees and related activities. Assist with cost analysis of programming, events, and other department projects. Provide and support promotion, education, and outreach efforts, including speaking and giving presentations to governmental agencies, civic groups, schools, churches, City Council, and other organizations. Assist with departmental budget support tasks, including research and reporting. Assist with department purchasing. Assist in answering customer questions and resolving concerns. Assist in managing the work order system and recreation software and provide reports as needed. Research and assist with or manage software implementation for the department. Provide administrative support to the department. Assist the Parks Board liaison and support Board -related activities, meetings, and communications. Assist with public meetings, special events, outreach initiatives, and idea generation for programs and projects. Serve as the department's Safety Liaison and Records Retention Liaison. Perform staff onboarding.
