Job Description

At Utah Valley University, this role offers the opportunity to be at the center of a vibrant, student-facing environment that brings people together through recreation and community. As a key point of contact, you'll create welcoming experiences by assisting guests, managing transactions, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the Bowling Alley and Gaming Center. This position blends customer service with hands-on operational oversight, giving you the chance to develop strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a dynamic and social setting. In addition to supporting guests, you'll play an important role in guiding team members and maintaining a positive, collaborative atmosphere. By helping coordinate activities, resolving customer concerns, and contributing to opening and closing procedures, you'll gain valuable leadership experience while helping ensure an engaging and enjoyable experience for all visitors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and thrives in an active, team-oriented environment. Assists with the supervision of the SLWC Bowling Alley and Gaming Center. Assists staff with operational processes and procedures and, in the absence of the professional team, administers the Student Life and Wellness Center's policies and procedures. Trains and guides staff regarding the administration of Bowling Alley and Gaming Center fee processes. Assists patrons in using SLWC services. Reports problems, suggestions, or equipment issues as necessary. High school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of relevant experience. Knowledge of basic computer applications. Knowledge of recreation programming services. Great leadership skills. Strong organization and planning skills. Demonstrated professional public relations skills, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks, operate office machines, and equipment. Ability to be trained on new techniques and jobs. Ability to handle cash and process credit card payments.
