Residents shall be encouraged to maintain and develop their fullest potential for independent living through participation in activity and recreational programs. 2. The activity director shall work in conjunction with the activity assistant to provide opportunities for the following: Will assist and work with volunteers and be able to utilize the assistance from volunteers. Involve C.N.A.'s in assisting with group activities. Maintain and have needed supplies for a variety of different activities. Will contribute new ideas for the monthly activity calendar. Will follow monthly activity calendar on the days scheduled to work. Will ensure that activities are offered to each resident as identified on the resident service plan. Will assist in maintaining photographs of facility news, happenings and activities. 3. Must participate in required monthly In-Services. 4. Will make sure that the activity room is left clean and orderly at the end of their shift. 5. Maintain a good working relationship with all customers; including residents, family members, community, vendors and Staff. 6. Must be able to work independently and develop and host events. 7. May be asked to work different days or hours should a special activity/event that requires more activity assistance, fall on a day off. 8. Will provide 1:1 visits/interaction with residents that are not attending group activities. 9. Will not participate in gossip of any kind. 10. Will conduct self professionally. 11. And all other duties required by Administration. 12. Capture photographs and video of residents during activities and participate in posting these regularly on social media. Must be 25 years or older - Driving of the Community Bus is mandatory. Must be in good health and properly immunized against infectious diseases, including measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and diphtheria. Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire. Must have current Food Handlers Permit. Must be positive and encouraging and have the ability to motivate residents to participate in activities.
Universal Precautions:
Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely.
Physical Requirements:
Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting of residents (up to 40 lbs.).
