Job Description

The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting the Recreational Therapist with the coordination and planning of therapeutic and recreational activities for the participants of the program. The Activities Assistant will possess good organizational skills and function well in a team environment. He/she will only act within the scope of practice of his or her authority to practice. He/She will meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position established by Centra PACE and approved by CMS before working independently.
Required Education:
High School Diploma /
GED Required Experience:
One (1) or two (2) years of experience in activities or at least one (1) year of experience, either volunteer or paid, working with the frail elderly
Salary Range:
$15.00 - $22.50 / Hour Assist in developing and implementing specific programs to include recreational and social activities Assist Recreational Therapist to plan and provide both group and individual activities Assist Recreational Therapist to plan outside entertainment field trips and accompany participants as needed Communicates participant changes to team members Completes all documentation in the medical record as required Other duties that may be assigned from time to time Participates in daily meetings Participates in the coordination of a -hour care delivery system Participates in the development of the participant plan of care Serves as a resource to staff and coordinates volunteer activities at the center
