The Weinstein JCC is looking to add an eager, determined, and enthusiastic member to the team as the Sports & Recreation Coordinator.
Position Summary:
Alongside the Sports Director, the Sports & Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of high quality, engaging, inclusive, and mission-based programming for all ages. This role includes but is not limited to supporting preschool p.e. and enrichment classes, after-school enrichmont classes for school-aged children, potential gym birthday parties on weekends, youth sports leagues, and family engagement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsilbilities may include but are not limited to the following: Support in the implementation of sports and receational programming for youth, teens, and adults. Assist, teach, or coach youth sports classess and leagues. Execute or lead gym birthday parties on request (traning provided). Collaborate with other departments to provide programming. Support the transportation of children to and from enrichment classes (on-site). Support staff to vendor-led classes. Support staff for all youth sports leagues (Sundays). Support in the implementation of large community events. Help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of gym area spaces. Report any damaged equipment and maintenance issues. Maintain thorough communication with staff, partners, members, and families. Provide support to fall, winter, spring, and summer camp programming. Provide quality internal and external customer service. Model and uphold agency values, policies, and precedurs.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Experience working with preschool and school-aged children. Youth sports experience preferred. The ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to interact positively with staff and vendors. Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to be flexible and adapt to change. Ability to work some evenings and weekends. CPR and First Aid Certified (or willingness to obtain). Willingness to learn.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an emplyee to successfully preform the essential functions of this position. Programs may be performed indoors and outdoors. Position may require long periods of standing and activity. Ability to lift 20 pounds. Ability to run.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 25.0 per week
