Smithfield, Virginia Hiring Range $15.60 - $20.25/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview Under the leadership of Recreation Director or designee, the recreation aide is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of activities for residents to enhance the quality of their health and well being. Coordinates with residents and appropriate departments within the facility for the promotion of activities that enhance quality of life for residents. Works under the supervision of the Director of Recreation Therapy or designated manager. What you will do Performs general office duties so that all filing and updating are completed accurately. Performs all necessary documentation in a timely fashion, in accordance with facility policies, and state regulations, files all general information of activity participation of the residents; and organizes all general information of on-site and off-site activities. Available to work effectively during all programs in compliance with State survey and all other applicable regulations, to include weekend and evening programs each month. Ensures all programs are set-up and started in accordance with the monthly calendar. Demonstrates the ability to manage time so that deadlines pertinent to both resident care and department operations are successfully met. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with patients, residents, guests, and team members. Team Member is able to complete a typical days assigned workload within the scheduled shift. Uses free time between assignments to prepare for events as well as ensure a safe and clean work environment. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with the public, residents and family members, so as to project a favorable image of LLHARS Division. Uses free time between programs to develop new programs, make unscheduled visits to resident's rooms, talk with residents, and makes an effort to sign them up for outings that may be of interest to them. Consistently provides quality programs within the approved budget and with minimal resident complaints. Qualifications Education , High school or equivalent (Required) Experience Prior activities experience in a long-term care or special population (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications
BLS/CPR/AED
