Job Description
Job Summary Join our family of veteran activities staff at Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center ! We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activity Assistant to help create meaningful and engaging experiences for our residents. In this role, you will assist with recreational programs, group activities, special events, and holiday celebrations while encouraging resident participation and promoting a positive quality of life. Responsibilities Assist in developing and carrying out recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events that meet residents' needs and interests. Support, encourage, and motivate residents to participate in activities. Transport residents to and from activities as needed. Accompany residents to special events and community outings outside the facility. Facilitate activities while maintaining awareness of all participating residents. Clean and organize activity areas after each program and prepare for upcoming activities. Assemble, dismantle, and properly store equipment and supplies used for recreational programs. Communicate with residents' families as necessary and encourage their involvement in activities. Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and resident-centered environment. Qualifications Previous experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Creative, energetic, and compassionate approach to working with residents. Ability to encourage resident participation and build positive relationships. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Reliable, organized, and attentive to resident safety and needs.
