Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activity Coordinator to energize and enrich the lives of residents in a senior living or assisted living community. This vital role involves designing, organizing, and leading engaging recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of seniors, including those with memory impairments such as Alzheimer's and dementia. The Activity Coordinator will foster a vibrant, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, ensuring residents experience joy, purpose, and connection every day. Duties Develop and implement a variety of engaging activity programs that cater to residents' interests, abilities, and health conditions, including activities and social events. Coordinate schedules for daily activities, outings, special events, and therapeutic programs to maximize participation and enjoyment. Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and external vendors to ensure activities support residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. Monitor residents' responses to activities, adjusting plans as needed to promote safety and engagement. Foster a positive environment that encourages social interaction and emotional well-being through personalized engagement strategies. Schedule Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm Occasional weekends and holidays Qualifications Proven experience in event planning or recreational programming Strong background in senior care and memory Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
