Job Description
Supervision and instruction of the children involved in the Kids Klub Program. Supervisors are responsible for the daily operations of the site. Assists with the planning and implementation of arts-n-crafts, children's games, active games, special events, and the overall promotion of the programs as guided by the Recreation Supervisor. Work Hours Monday thru Friday positions, 20-30 hrs. per week School Days 3:15 - 6:00 p.m. Non-School Days 5:45 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (optional hours available on non-school days) Provides constant supervision and leadership for the program participants. Assists the Recreation Supervisor in developing the schedule of activities. Supervise and guide any teen volunteers and staff in their duties / responsibilities. Instructs and leads the participants in the following activities; arts-n-crafts, storytelling, cooperative games, educational components, community service projects, etc. Performs daily safety inspections of playground facilities and equipment, reporting any problem areas to Recreation Supervisor. Records daily attendance and tracks that participants are pre-paid, otherwise notifying the Recreation Supervisor so participants can be billed. Handles the questions and complaints of parents in the best most tactful manner possible. Always wears a Recreation Department Staff Shirt when working. Always the last person to leave the designated program site, making sure all children are safely on their way home. Meets with Recreation Supervisor for performance evaluations. Performs related duties as directed by the Recreation Supervisor. Knowledge and experience in supervision of children in an educational or recreational setting, skills in communication and public relations, and ability to effectively plan, organize, and implement recreational activities (i.e., arts-n-crafts, active games etc.). Must hold current First Aid and CPR certifications or receive it within 6 months of hire. Knowledge and experience in supervision of children. Some experience leading arts-n-crafts, active games, and cooperative games. Some experience in teaching children in an educational or recreational setting.
