Job Description

Supervision and instruction of the children involved in the Before School Kids Klub Program. Assists with the planning and implementation of arts-n-crafts, children's games, active games and the overall promotion of the programs as guided by the Recreation Supervisor and Site Supervisor. We have open shifts Monday through Friday. Working all five days is preferred but not mandatory. Provides constant supervision and leadership for the program participants. Instructs and leads the participants in the following activities; arts-n-crafts, storytelling, cooperative games (active & passive), and Kids Workshops, etc. Serves as chaperone for all youth field trips and special events. Assists with the distribution, collection and inventory of Kids Klub equipment and supplies. Works with the Recreation Department office to keep the parents and children informed of any scheduled changes. Performs daily safety inspections of the Kids Klub facilities and equipment, reporting any problem areas to the Recreation Supervisor. Records daily attendance for each Kids Klub site. Handles the questions and complaints of parents in the best most tactful manner possible. Always wears a Recreation Department Staff Shirt and tennis shoes when working. Is always the last person to leave the designated program site, making sure all children are safely on their way home. Meets with Recreation Supervisor for performance evaluations. Performs related duties as directed by the Recreation Supervisor or Park and Recreation Director. Knowledge and experience in supervision of children. Some experience leading arts-n-crafts, active games, and cooperative games. Some experience in teaching children in an educational or recreational setting.
