Milwaukee, WI Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Qualifications Driver's License Full Job Description Horizons Youth Services at Milwaukee Job Corps Center provides innovative, quality educational and job training programs to enable young people to succeed in today's competitive job market and keep pace with the ever-changing dynamics of our worldwide economy. We are seeking part-time and full-time Recreation Specialists to encourage our students to participate in recreation programs during the evenings and weekends at our residential trade school for young adults. Full or part-time available Summary of duties: Responsible for the supervision of staff and students to ensure a safe and secure operation of activities in the recreation/avocation area and supervises code of conduct in the development, implementation and maintenance of the behavior management system.
Other duties include:
Assisting with the planning, implementation, and instruction of a variety of recreation activities, to include events, and field trips. Monitors activities for individuals and groups to include tournament competition and varsity and intramural competition for the athletic-minded students. Provides oversight of plans for recreations activities for students not participating in athletic events. Supervises the development of the instructional programs to teach students new skills and to improve existing skills.
Pay:
Well above state and federal minimum wage requirements plus health and welfare benefits!
Qualifications/Experience:
Experience :
One year of experience required.
Education:
Associates Degree preferred, preferably in a related field. Lifeguard certificate preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid State Drivers' License.
