Job Description

Maplewood of Sauk Prairie is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant to join our team, with a primary focus on serving our residents in Memory Care. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by helping to plan, organize, and implement engaging activities under the supervision of the Activity Director. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with seniors, particularly those with memory care needs, and is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that promote socialization, cognitive function, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities Assist in
Planning Activities:
Collaborate closely with the Activity Director to develop and execute a variety of activities tailored specifically to the interests, abilities, and needs of our Memory Care residents.
Lead and Facilitate Activities:
Conduct group and individual activities such as reminiscence therapy, sensory stimulation, music sessions, gentle exercise, and other specialized activities designed for those with memory impairment.
Resident Engagement:
Encourage and motivate residents to participate in activities, providing support and adapting activities as needed to ensure inclusivity and success for those with varying cognitive abilities.
Administrative Support:
Assist in tracking participation and preparing materials for activities.
Communication:
Work in close collaboration with other staff members, families, and volunteers to ensure the success of the Memory Care activity program and to meet the individual needs of residents. Promote a
Positive Atmosphere:
Help foster a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where Memory Care residents feel valued, engaged and supported.
Part Time:
