Job Summary St. Barbara's Nursing Home has immediate opening for an Activities Assistant. In this position, you will participate in developing and conducting a variety of activities throughout the day, evenings and weekends for our 57 residents that have different levels of abilities to participate in activities, from one on one to group activities. Your enthusiasm and creativity will enhance the day to day lives of our residents by providing actives, communication, and socialization with others. Duties Plan, coordinate, and execute resident activities under the direction of the current Activities Director, including social events, games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and outings that promote engagement and well-being Develop customized activity programs that cater to residents' individual preferences, abilities, and health conditions Build strong rapport with residents through empathetic communication and personalized interaction Collaborate with care teams to identify residents' needs related to aging issues, memory care, or disabilities and adapt activities accordingly Manage resident schedules for activities and events to ensure smooth operation and maximum participation Maintain detailed records of resident participation, progress, and feedback to inform ongoing program development Requirements Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or assisted living environments is helpful Prior experience working with seniors, especially in long-term care or nursing home settings is helpful Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Familiarity with electronic documentation Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in geriatrics is highly preferred Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs that foster socialization and mental stimulation Join us in creating a lively community where seniors feel valued, supported, and inspired every day!
