LocationMylan Park Aquatics & Track Center, 1847 Fitness Wy, Morgantown, WV, 26501, United States Job CategoryMylan Park Aquatics & Track Center IndustryFitness & Excercise, Individual & Group Fitness Employee TypePT Non-Exempt Description Mylan Park is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Fitness Specialist to support and enhance the experience of members and guests in our 2nd Floor Fitness Center. This role focuses exclusively on fitness and includes responsibilities related to member engagement, equipment oversight, group fitness instruction, and health education. The ideal candidate is passionate about health and wellness and committed to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ensure the safety of facility patrons Conduct general strength and cardiovascular orientations with patrons Enforce recreation center policies in the strength and cardiovascular areas Provide quality customer service to all patrons, regardless of fitness level, appearance, or otherwise Communicate effectively with the supervisor through phone, email, or in-person Perform duties related to opening and closing the facility Assist maintenance staff in cleaning and maintaining strength and cardiovascular equipment Other duties as required Requirements Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (Can certify at our facility if needed) Related fitness and/or sports experience Ability to enforce policies in an assertive and professional manner Knowledge of standard practices and trends in the areas of fitness and health Excellent customer service skills Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills Excellent conflict resolution and time management skills Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles Competencies Proficiency in strength and cardiovascular equipment Proficient in giving general directions and fitness-related questions from patrons Human Relations Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information,negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.
