Join Our Team as a Youth Sports Assistant! Make a difference. Build confidence. Inspire the next generation. The Sheridan County YMCA is looking for energetic, positive, and dependable individuals who are passionate about working with youth through sports. As a Youth Sports Assistant , you'll help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where kids learn teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and healthy habits. If you love sports, enjoy mentoring children, and want a job where you can make a real impact in your community, we'd love to meet you! What You'll Do Supervise youth participants in sports leagues for Pre-K through Junior High. Help set up and clean up sports facilities and equipment. Officiate games and lead age-appropriate activities. Assist with YMCA summer sports and science camps. Ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for every participant. Build positive relationships with youth, families, volunteers, and fellow staff. Follow YMCA safety, child protection, and emergency procedures.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Is at least 18 years old. Has reliable transportation to program locations. Has access to a phone or other communication device. Enjoys working with children and serving the community. Has experience with basketball, soccer, youth camps, or other youth sports (preferred). Can work both indoors and outdoors. Is able to lift up to 50 pounds. Is dependable, enthusiastic, and a positive role model. Training Provided The YMCA provides required training, including: CPR & First Aid Child Abuse Prevention Emergency & Alarm Procedures Abuse Risk Management Why Work at the Y?
