BOX OFFICE ASSOCIATE

) Ensemble Theatre Company, Santa Barbara's professional theatre company, is seeking a technically proficient, personable, and efficient employee who is available to work 2-4 days a week as a Box Office Associate. Regular Box Office hours are 12:30 PM - 5:00 PM, with extended evening hours during performance weeks. Work schedule may vary between 8-20 hours/week depending on the performance schedule and box office needs, so flexibility is appreciated. Will require weekend and evening shifts. Associates report to the Box Office Manager. As part of the Box Office team, you will complete a variety of tasks including selling and exchanging tickets and subscriptions, communicating with patrons via phone, and working Will Call before performances. Associates are frequently our patrons' first point of contact when engaging with the theatre: as such, this position requires exemplary customer service skills, professionalism, and an ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure. Additionally, 100% of our orders are processed through our ticketing database, Tessitura, so a strong understanding of basic computer systems and an ability to understand and adapt to a new system is essential.Desired Qualifications:
Software:
o Able to learn a highly specialized ticketing database; Tessitura experience preferred but not required o Experience with standard features of Word, Excel, and Outlook.Customer Service:
o Expert customer service and phone etiquette; patience when providing personalized service to patrons o Comfortability with discussing detailed information regarding shows and subscription packages o Understanding of security protocol regarding credit card and cash transactions, both over the phone and in person o Ability to write professionally when corresponding with patrons and when drafting outreach materials, including emails, reminders, flyers, etc.- Office organization: o Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail; an understanding of digital file sorting, shared documents, and database maintenance; ability to keep physical office organized and clean
- Knowledge and appreciation for theatre and the performing arts are strongly encouraged, and we welcome those with educational backgrounds in arts and humanities!
Part-time Pay :

Schedule :
- Afternoon/evening shift Regular box office hours are 1pm - 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday We have evening performances at 7:30pm on Weekdays and 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Weekend availability We hold additional Sunday matinees during our performance runs at 2pm. Work location :
