Job Description

The Kitchen Manager at Jubilee Kitchen and Bar is responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and safety, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining inventory. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of food preparation and kitchen management.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations:
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared to high standards. Manage kitchen staff schedules and performance. Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and safely.
Food Quality and Safety:
Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and storage areas.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Manage food costs and minimize waste. Maintain accurate records of food purchases and usage.
Staff Training and Development:
Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and sanitation. Provide ongoing coaching and support to kitchen team members. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
Cleanliness and Organization:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace. Perform regular cleaning tasks, including sanitizing workstations, washing dishes, and cleaning equipment. Follow opening and closing procedures to ensure a clean and secure workspace.
Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff and management. Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
3+ years' experience as a kitchen manager or in a similar role. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with inventory management and cost control.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for operating kitchen equipment.
Working Conditions:
Busy kitchen environment with varying levels of activity. Potential exposure to hot equipment and sharp tools.
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
