Based on experience Semmes House of Pizza is looking for an experienced, dependable, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operation. We are a busy, established restaurant with a large menu. While pizza is a major part of our business, we also have a full kitchen preparing burgers, pastas, wings, sandwiches, appetizers, and more. This position is responsible for helping oversee the entire kitchen, not just the pizza line. This Is a Hands-On Management Position We want to be clear about what we're looking for: this is not a sit-down management job. Our Kitchen Manager is expected to work alongside the team. That means cooking, working different stations, cutting pizzas, helping with prep, training employees, checking food quality, helping with food orders and stepping in wherever needed during busy shifts. We want someone who leads by example and isn't afraid to work. Responsibilities- Help lead and oversee the entire BOH operation
- Work alongside the kitchen team during regular and high-volume shifts
- Train new employees and continue developing current staff
- Maintain consistency in recipes, portions and food quality
- Make sure all kitchen stations are properly prepped and stocked
- Assist with food ordering, inventory and product rotation
- Control waste and help maintain food-cost standards
- Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe kitchen
- Help ensure the kitchen is properly staffed and employees remain productive
- Make sure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly
- Hold employees accountable and maintain a productive work environment
- Communicate staffing, inventory, equipment and operational needs with upper management What We're Looking For
- Previous kitchen management or strong restaurant kitchen leadership experience
- Reliable and dependable attendance
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to lead and train employees effectively
- Comfortable working multiple kitchen stations
- Able to handle a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant
- Organized and able to stay calm under pressure
- Flexible availability, including nights and weekends
- Willing and able to work approximately 40-50 hours per week We're looking for someone who will take ownership of the kitchen and make sure things are done correctly, whether that means directing the team or jumping on a station themselves.
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:
