Job Description
Assistant General Manager Gilbert House Restaurant - 5.0 Gilbert, AZ Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $62,000 a year 12 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Management ServSafe Team leadership Employee relationship building ServSafe Food Manager Certification Restaurant experience General management Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description Gilbert, Arizona | Full-Time | $50,000-$62,000 (DOE) + quarterly performance bonuses The Gilbert House is looking for an experienced restaurant leader to join our management team as Assistant General Manager . We're a locally owned breakfast and lunch restaurant located in a historic 1928 Craftsman home in Gilbert. We're known for scratch-made food, a welcoming atmosphere, and the kind of hospitality that makes people feel like they're visiting family. We're looking for someone who genuinely likes people . Someone who knows how to work a dining room, connect with regulars, build trust with employees, recognize when a guest isn't having the experience they should be having, and step in without needing to be told. This is not exclusively a FOH position. Our AGM helps lead the entire restaurant , including both FOH and BOH operations. But we're especially interested in someone with strong FOH and hospitality instincts who can bring that perspective to our leadership team. You might be a great fit if: You've spent several years in restaurants and still genuinely enjoy the business. You've led restaurant teams before. FOH and hospitality are particular strengths. You're comfortable stepping into the kitchen and working through BOH challenges too. You build relationships easily with employees and guests. You're approachable, but you're not afraid of accountability. You care about doing something right—not simply doing it fast. You can see the whole restaurant during a busy service and figure out where you're needed most. You're calm when things get messy. You don't need to be the person with the biggest title in the room to have an impact. You want to be part of a management team rather than carrying an entire restaurant by yourself. What you'll do You'll work directly with our General Manager to help run day-to-day restaurant operations and lead both FOH and BOH teams. That includes running shifts, coaching employees, handling guest recovery, maintaining food and service standards, managing labor and staffing decisions, supporting training and scheduling, and making sure the restaurant is set up for success each day. We expect our AGM to be a leader rather than simply another set of hands. You'll absolutely jump in when the team needs you, but you'll also know when to step back, look at the entire restaurant, identify what needs attention, and lead. What we're looking for We'd ideally like 5+ years of restaurant experience and at least 2 years in leadership , but we're more interested in finding the right combination of experience, judgment, and personality than checking every box. Previous experience as an AGM, GM, Restaurant Manager, FOH Manager, Service Manager, or similar restaurant leader would be a strong fit.
