Our ideal Assistant Manager is a hands-on leader who enjoys being present on the floor, interacting with guests, coaching team members, and working alongside the restaurant's leadership team to create a successful operation. Working closely with the General Manager, Kitchen Manager, and other members of the management team, you will help execute Haymaker and Westside Concepts' standards while continuing to develop your own leadership, operational, and financial management skills. Your Duties Will IncludeLeadership & Guest Experience Deliver exceptional hospitality and help create memorable guest experiences Be an active and visible leader throughout each shift Build relationships with our guests and create the neighborhood hospitality Haymaker is known for Lead by example through professionalism, positivity, urgency, and teamwork Support the General Manager and Kitchen Manager in achieving the restaurant's cultural, operational, and financial goals Communicate effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams Assist with guest concerns and recovery, finding solutions that leave guests feeling valued Help create an environment of teamwork, communication, and accountability Operational Excellence Assist in managing day-to-day restaurant operations Execute opening, closing, and shift-management responsibilities Ensure operational systems and SOPs are followed consistently Maintain food, beverage, and service quality standards Monitor restaurant cleanliness, safety, organization, and atmosphere Ensure responsible and accurate cash and card handling Maintain product freshness, consistency, and presentation standards Identify operational issues and work with the management team to develop solutions Be willing and able to step into service positions when needed to support the team and our guests Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Develop an understanding of the restaurant's financial goals and key performance metrics Assist with achieving food, beverage, and labor cost goals Support inventory, ordering, forecasting, and reporting processes as assigned Assist with scheduling and daily labor management Monitor staffing and labor throughout shifts and make appropriate adjustments Help protect company assets through accurate cash handling, inventory controls, and operational procedures Learn to use restaurant performance data to make better operational decisions People Development & Culture Help recruit, interview, onboard, and train new team members Coach team members during daily operations and provide consistent feedback Recognize strong performance and opportunities for improvement Hold team members accountable in a respectful, consistent, and growth-focused manner Help create a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable workplace culture Support ongoing training and development initiatives Build trust with team members through consistency, communication, and follow-through Continue developing your own leadership skills through feedback and coaching from restaurant leadership Flexibility & Availability Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs Must be comfortable working a flexible restaurant-management schedule Other duties as assigned to support the restaurant and its team Experience Requirements Restaurant leadership or supervisory experience preferred Experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment strongly preferred Previous experience as a Shift Lead, Supervisor, Key Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar leadership role is a plus Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities Experience coaching team members and handling guest concerns Basic understanding of restaurant operations, labor, inventory, and cost controls preferred Desire to continue learning and growing into increased restaurant leadership responsibility Skills & Requirements Friendly, warm, and approachable personality Genuine passion for hospitality and taking care of people Positive, can-do attitude and reliable work ethic Ability to lead with confidence while remaining coachable Ability to think and act quickly in fast-paced situations Strong organizational and communication skills Comfortable giving and receiving feedback Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods Willingness to assist wherever needed during restaurant operations Dependable team player who naturally builds trust and respect Ability to balance the needs of our guests, team members, and business Benefits Health benefits PTO Bonus program Team member dining program Career growth opportunities Quality-of-life scheduling Leadership development and advancement opportunities Joining a culture-forward, people-first hospitality group We Embrace Diversity Westside Concepts believes a diverse team is essential to successful, ethical business.
