Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, energetic General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our fish market and restaurant. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside the team, taking care of customers, and making sure the operation runs smoothly from open to close. The ideal candidate has strong restaurant management experience, excellent communication skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to lead by example. Experience with seafood, fish markets, or high-volume restaurant operations is strongly preferred. What You'll Do Lead the Daily Operation Oversee the day-to-day operations of both the restaurant and fish market. Lead from the floor and remain actively involved in service and daily operations. Ensure the restaurant and market are clean, organized, properly staffed, and operating efficiently. Open and/or close the business and ensure proper procedures are followed. Identify operational issues and take initiative to solve them. Lead & Develop the Team Hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop employees. Build a positive, accountable, team-oriented work environment. Lead by example with a strong work ethic and professional attitude. Manage staff performance and address issues promptly and fairly. Create clear expectations for service, cleanliness, professionalism, and teamwork. Scheduling & Staffing Create and manage weekly staff schedules. Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on business volume. Manage call-outs, shift coverage, breaks, and staffing changes. Monitor labor costs and scheduling efficiency. Customer Experience Deliver an exceptional customer experience in both the restaurant and fish market. Be highly visible and engaged with customers and staff. Handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally. Build relationships with regular customers and help create a welcoming atmosphere. Safety, Food Handling & Compliance Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety. Ensure employees follow all required health and safety procedures. Conduct regular safety and cleanliness checks. Maintain compliance with applicable health department, workplace safety, and food-handling requirements. Make safety and accountability part of the daily culture. Purchasing & Inventory Assist with purchasing and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers. Monitor inventory levels and product quality. Help control food, seafood, packaging, and operating costs. Minimize waste and ensure proper product rotation and storage. Work closely with ownership/management on ordering and inventory needs. Financial & Operational Accountability Monitor sales, labor, food costs, waste, and other key operating expenses. Help identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency. Ensure cash-handling and closing procedures are followed. Maintain accurate operational records and communicate important issues to ownership. What We're Looking For Proven experience as a General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership role . Strong restaurant operations and people-management experience. Seafood or fish market experience is highly preferred. A hands-on management style — you are comfortable working the floor, jumping in wherever needed, and setting the standard for the team. Strong organizational and scheduling skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to train, motivate, and hold employees accountable. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation. Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed. Ability and willingness to grow with the business. The Right Person The right candidate is someone who takes ownership .
