Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with the GM to drive success of Market that increases the bottom line by increasing revenue, evaluating sales trends, creating marketing initiatives, identifying new streams of revenue, lowering overhead costs, and establishing new partnerships with vendors, and promotion of brand awareness in the community. Assists the Store Buyer and GM with ordering, breaks down loads, maintains working knowledge of all vendors, store ordering cycle, and departments Responsible for the day-to-day management of employee timecards including tracking missed punches and late lunches. Maintains payroll data throughout pay period. Works with the HR team to ensure payroll policies are administered per company protocols. Manages store recruitment and hiring, reviews walk-in applications and phone screens, schedules and conducts on-site interviews, and evaluates new candidates for open positions, communicates with the HR team regarding changes in staffing needs. Troubleshoots storewide issues, resolves conflicts with employees or work flows, works collaboratively with management team and ownership to achieve goals Performs all functions of opening or closing the store, including counting safe, preparing drawers, pulling daily reports, making daily deposits Cross trained in all departments, role requires ultimate accountability and knowledge of all positions within store Works with management team to complete POS implementation goals, contributes to the integrity of the database, trains to understand all database functionality Supports the GM to perform quarterly store inventories, monitors store-wide internal inventory procedures, works in conjunction with buyer and department managers to ensure accurate auto-reordering and receiving procedures are followed Guides the work of others, ensures staff completes daily opening/closing check lists, assigns work to ensure quality standards are met, monitors staff and oversees their productivity Engages the customer in a friendly manner, shares product information and assists in locating product throughout the store. Seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience Adapts service based on customer needs, handles difficult customer situations and seeks solutions to delight the customer Follows established invoicing procedures, works with GM/Buyer to resolve vendor billing and credit issues, builds rapport with vendors and local suppliers
Requirements:
At least 2 years in grocery preferred, other retail considered A least 2 years of supervisory/management experience Experience buying perishable foods preferred
Preferred Skills:
Previous knowledge of POS platforms Proficiency in Excel Previous experience with payroll software and HRIS software
