We're a busy, high-standards independent restaurant investing in our management team as we grow. The Role We're hiring an Assistant Manager to support daily front-of-house operations. You'll run smooth shifts, hold service standards, and keep the guest experience consistent from open to close. This is a hands-on floor leadership role — you'll be present during service, coaching staff in real time, and solving problems as they come up. What You'll Do Run shifts: open/close the restaurant, manage floor coverage, and adjust staffing in real time during service Lead and coach FOH staff — servers, hosts, and bar — to consistent service standards Handle guest concerns on the spot and turn problems into good experiences Support scheduling, and monitor clock-in/out, absences, and lateness Assist with FOH supply and bar inventory counts and receiving Enforce food safety, alcohol service compliance, and cleanliness standards Communicate shift issues clearly to ownership What We're Looking For 5+ years of restaurant supervisory or management experience, full-service preferred Valid ABC/RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification, or ability to obtain before start Valid California Food Handler Card or ServSafe certification required Calm under pressure, clear communicator, leads by example on the floor Weekend, evening, and holiday availability Authorized to work in the United States Pay & Hours $24-$28 per hour, based on experience 35-50 hours per week; overtime paid per California law Free shift meal
