FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER
Full Time Must have either FOH Manager or AGM experience 3+ years The Butcher's Daughter is a busy, fast paced and vibrant plant forward parisian style restaurant & all day cafe located in the heart of vibrant Venice Beach. We are home to locals, and a destination to travelers - and strive to create an environment & lifestyle that is welcoming to all. We are looking for a seasoned front of house manager to join our team, who is enthusiastic about the restaurant industry and is looking to establish themselves and their team even more in this ever growing neighborhood. This person must Be a positive leader; speaks kindly, calmly, clearly to all employees. Manages in a fair and consistent way. Be inspiring to work with; instills worth ethic, enthusiasm, and hospitality into the every day Be present on the floor at all times; building guest connections and driving business and sales
ABOUT THE ROLE
The FOH manager plays a key leadership role in the organization, and owns some of operations under this roof for both front and back of house alongside the general manager. The FOH manager is responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience throughout every shift. This role involves a hands-on approach to service, supporting and coaching the FOH team, and making sure the space is guest-ready each day. Candidates should be comfortable owning all aspects of operations and service, which may include long hours on your feet, lifting and moving heavy items, and working closely with the culinary team. You'll set the tone for hospitality, pace, and flow—and help bring our sunny, stylish energy to life. This person will report directly to the General Manager.
Financial Responsibilities:
Strong knowledge of operations including food, beverage, staff supervision, safety, and guest experience. driving revenue initiatives, and cost containment plans Capable of controlling day to day operations including scheduling, labor, ordering, inventory, and staff development. Experience troubleshooting and reviewing inventory. Experience writing schedules, training, and developing staff. Understands and can work within budgets and targeted goals set forth by the company. Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, operating supplies, utilities, and labor. Can oversee that all financial paperwork is completed accurately and on time - this includes invoicing, payroll (and other personnel paperwork) and reporting. Ensures that all proper procedures and security are in place to protect employees, guests, and business assets. Operational Responsibilities Is a quick learner, critical thinker, and natural problem solver. Is passionate about food, beverage, and people! Is invested in growing the restaurant as if it's your own and will train staff to The Butcher's Daughter standards and best practices and beyond. Manage shifts - which include daily decision making, scheduling, planning. Investigate and resolve any type of complaint coming from staff or guest associated with quality, safety, and procedures. Works quickly and responds in a timely manner to emails and completes tasks on time. Are hands on and creative, and helps plan marketing, advertising, and special events for the restaurant. Can maintain and enforce proper time-keeping procedures and policies. Great communicator - is clear, precise, and kind. Keeps Regional General Manager and leadership team in the know. Team & People Responsibilities Responsible for upkeep, replying and management of the guest reviews Provides direction to employees regarding operations and procedures Establish performance reviews and clearly layout expectations on a daily basis. Communicates in a clearly and effectively. Has a working knowledge of IT - Toast, Excel, R365, reservations platforms, and other restaurant technology systems. Is self- disciplined and possesses natural leadership. Pleasant and polite, professional, and presentable.
