Job Description

We have a unique opportunity for a motivated Banquet Manager to join our events team! Events at Long Meadow Ranch include Live Fires, Guest Chefs, Beer and Wine Dinners, weddings, corporate meetings, social events and occasional offsite events. Th Banquet Manager oversees all aspects of the execution of our private events, including setup, food presentation, food & beverage service and cleanup while focusing on every detail and the highest quality of customer service and presentation. Responsibilities Event Execution Manage the execution of events providing an exceptional experience for the client and guests Communicate to the events staff the details and staff responsibilities for each event Actively engage in service for the majority of working hours and perform hands-on work on an ongoing basis Ensure positive guest experience in all areas, responding promptly to complaints and acting to resolve guest issues Model appropriate behaviors by leading by example and maintain a strong presence at each event Attend weekly BEO meetings to facilitate communication from sales team to execution team Respond accordingly to any property emergencies or safety situations and keep executive management fully informed Adhere to established departmental and company guidelines and policies Event Operations Management Manage the standard operating procedures for event execution; determine and implement system improvements as needed Collaborate with the event sales team to ensure event-related labor, rental and sales targets are met Create and sustain productive relationships with event-related clients, vendors, companies and supporters Ensure that all food safety, food quality standards, workplace safety standards, customer service standards and company policies are met in compliance with all Department of Environmental Health food safety regulations Collaborate with management and HR on the recruitment, training, scheduling, counseling and discipline of events front of house staff Assist with restaurant front of house service during periods of low demand for events.
Education, Experience and Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Hotel Management or closely related discipline 3+ years of experience in hospitality and event management in the lifestyle, restaurant, resort, hotel, travel or winery industry Prior work experience as a team leader, preferably in the restaurant, event, or hospitality industry Excellent sales and customer service skills Strong supervisory and leadership skills Experience using and managing scheduling and time clock applications Experience with delivering events operations as specified on BEOs Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must lead and work consistent with LMR's core values: Balance, Respect and Stewardship Proven commitment to creating a great first impression with the ability to consistently provide excellent guest experiences Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work independently and with the team Must be available for to work weekends and holidays Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations Must be able to bend or twist body Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl A valid CA driver's license and maintain a safe driving record A pre-employment background check is required
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time, salaried position The Company reasonably expects to pay in the range of $75 - $85k for this position. Of course, this is depending on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, and business or organizational needs.
