ASAP Requirements Reliable transportation required Must be authorized to work in the United States Maintain a smoke-free and fragrance free environment Must be physically capable of navigating a multi-level home with significant stair access Tech-savvy; comfortable using shared calendars and family communication systems Vaccinations (general) About Our Family We're a busy, active family of five living in Marin County with three school-age kids. Our home is warm and full of life, but the pace is fast and the to-do list is real. One parent commutes to San Francisco most weekdays, out the door well before sunrise. The other works from a dedicated home office and is often focused during the day. Three kids get out the door by 8 a.m., and the aftermath is exactly what you'd expect. We've had household help in various forms for several years and we know what works for us. We're not looking for someone to hover or check in constantly. We're looking for someone who gets it, who sees what needs to happen, and makes it happen before we think to ask. Our home has four flights of stairs from the street, so physical ease in the space is genuinely important. We have a biweekly deep cleaner who handles the heavy lifting on cleaning days. This role is about keeping things running smoothly between those visits and staying on top of the daily rhythm of a busy family. Ultimately, we hope to find a long-term partner who provides peace of mind by managing the many moving parts of our home with care, consistency, and professionalism—allowing our family to focus on work, travel, and time together, knowing everything is thoughtfully handled. Who You Are / What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is independent, self-sufficient, detail-oriented, proactive, capable, and naturally takes initiative. You don't need a lot of direction or hand-holding. You're the kind of person who notices the paper towels are running low before anyone says anything. You're task-oriented and take real pride in execution. You quickly learn the rhythm of the household and understand how the family operates. Each morning after the children leave for school, you'll complete a thoughtful walkthrough of the home to identify what needs attention that day. While laundry is typically a priority, if it's already complete, you'll naturally transition to the family's running priority list, tackling projects and tasks that the parents have identified. You understand how to prioritize independently while remaining aligned with the family's needs and preferences. You have professional boundaries and a positive attitude, and you understand that working in someone's home requires a particular kind of discretion and respect. Bonus points if you're plugged into the local community and can bring that kind of contextual awareness to the role—knowing the area, understanding local rhythms, and anticipating needs before they're voiced. You communicate clearly, can manage a shared family inbox and calendar system, and treat the home with the same level of care and ownership as if it were your own. You approach situations with a solutions-oriented mindset, bringing thoughtful recommendations rather than simply identifying problems. Service is at the core of how you operate, and it shows in your professionalism, discretion, and commitment to making life easier for the family. Key Qualities Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Proactive and resourceful; anticipates needs and solves problems independently Excellent communicator who is professional, direct, and responsive Exceptional follow-through and commitment to execution Calm, steady, and a problem solver Able to quickly learn the family's routines, prioritize independently, and adapt as daily needs evolve Values professionalism, healthy boundaries, and supporting a private family with integrity
