Full-Time About Us Greenfish Cafeteria, located in Stanford University's Clark Center, is open to the public and offers a wide variety of cuisines crafted by specialty chefs. Along with daily dining, we provide full-service catering for campus events, conferences, and receptions, serving groups of 20 to 2,000 with exceptional care and hospitality. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, thoughtfully prepared meals that celebrate and reflect the diversity of the Stanford community. Position Overview Greenfish Cafeteria is seeking an experienced and motivated Cafeteria Assistant Manager. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced food-service environment. This person will help supervise employees, maintain service standards, resolve customer concerns, and ensure that daily operations run smoothly. Key Responsibilities Support the manager with daily cafeteria operations, including opening and closing procedures Supervise, train, and provide direction to front-of-house team members Maintain a welcoming environment and deliver excellent customer service Monitor food presentation, service quality, cleanliness, and organization Assist with employee scheduling and shift coverage Handle POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and daily sales reporting Monitor inventory and communicate ordering needs to management Coordinate with the kitchen team to support efficient meal service Help organize and prepare cafeteria and catering orders Respond professionally to customer questions, requests, and concerns Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures Assist with catering setup, delivery coordination, and event support when needed Step into different operational roles during busy service periods Qualifications At least 2 years of restaurant, cafeteria, catering, or hospitality experience preferred Previous supervisory or team-lead experience strongly preferred Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking initiative Ability to remain professional and organized in a fast-paced environment Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic computer programs Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds Availability to work occasional catering events outside regular cafeteria hours

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
