Our team knows seafood seasons and sourcing inside and out, and we love helping customers choose something exceptional for tonight's dinner or a special occasion. We're looking for a General Manager who wants to lead from the counter, not just the office. This is a hands on role. You'll spend real time working the fish counter, talking through what's fresh, making recommendations, and closing the sale. You set the tone for hospitality and salesmanship on the floor every single day. What you'll own: Leading, coaching, and scheduling the team Selling and educating customers at the counter, this is core to the job Inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships Sales targets, margins, and cost control Food safety and health compliance Local marketing, seasonal promos, and community presence in Park Slope What you bring: Retail, grocery, or food service management experience A genuine love of selling and being on the floor with customers Comfort with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L basics Strong communication skills and a knack for turning browsers into buyers Food safety knowledge, ServSafe a plus Curiosity about seafood and sustainable sourcing, even if you're still learning Availability for weekends and holidays, and the stamina for a busy market floor Comfort with POS systems and basic tech If you love seafood, love people, and want to build something real in one of Brooklyn's best neighborhoods, we'd love to hear from you.
