About The Finch Club The Finch Club is a new private social club opening on Main Street in the heart of downtown New Canaan, Connecticut. Built around great food, great drinks, and genuinely great hospitality, the club combines a lounge, dining room, full bar, and a private event space, with a calendar of live entertainment, tastings, guest chef dinners, and seasonal programming that gives members a reason to come back again and again. We're currently in pre-opening buildout, targeting a spring 2027 launch, and looking to bring on a General Manager as soon as possible to be part of building the club from the ground up. The Role The General Manager is the club's operational and cultural heart. You'll own the member experience end-to-end, from admissions and onboarding through the day-to-day rhythm of service, and you'll be the primary steward of the club's standards, culture, and reputation as we open our doors for the first time. This is a rare opportunity to help build a private club from pre-opening through launch, not step into an established operation. What You'll Do Lead all day-to-day operations across the bar, lounge, dining room, and private event space Hire, train, and manage a full front-of-house and back-of-house team Own budget management, labor cost control, and P&L performance for the club Work closely with ownership on member programming, from weekly events to seasonal parties and guest chef dinners Manage vendor relationships, purchasing standards, and inventory controls in partnership with ownership Drive member satisfaction and retention, and act as a primary point of contact for member feedback Support pre-opening planning, including staffing buildout, systems setup, and opening logistics What We're Looking For 5+ years of progressive management experience in a private club, luxury hospitality, or high-end restaurant environment A genuine passion for hospitality and building a member community, not just running a restaurant Strong financial acumen, including labor cost management and budget ownership A hands-on leadership style, comfortable working closely with ownership in a growing, entrepreneurial environment Experience opening a new venue or club is a strong plus Culinary or F&B background (CIA, sommelier certification, or equivalent) is a plus but not required Available to start soon, given our spring 2027 opening timeline
