We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled FOH Shift Lead to join our team and contribute to the success of our newest café.
Role Overview:
As a FOH Shift Lead at Doro Marketplace, your main objective will be to support Café Management in effectively running a smooth and outstanding shift. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of proficiency across all FOH hourly positions, leading by example, and ensuring that our guests receive impeccable service. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in upholding sanitation standards within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough Opening and Closing Checklists to ensure all essential tasks are completed.
- Lead and guide the FOH team during shifts, promptly addressing any challenges or bottlenecks in guest service.
- Communicate shift-specific notes in the daily log to ensure clear communication among team members.
- Take an active role in training newly hired employees, providing constructive feedback to trainees and management.
- Exhibit proficiency in placing vendor orders when necessary to maintain inventory levels.
- Receive and inspect deliveries from external vendors to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to cash management policies, demonstrating competence in counting the safe and cash drawers.
- Identify and report equipment repair and maintenance issues, collaborating to find effective solutions.
- Manage catering orders placed over the phone, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
- Conduct thorough sanitation checklists and take corrective actions as required to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in various FOH roles within a hospitality or food service setting.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and motivate a team effectively.
- Proficiency in cash handling and basic financial transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to upholding quality and standards.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or shift lead role.
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training.
- Understanding of local health and safety regulations.
Prepares coffee drinks and related food items as requested by customer. Ensures customer service and product quality, selection and availability.
BARISTA / COUNTER
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities Doro Restaurant Group customer service programs to meet or exceed customer service goals. Handles customer relations in a positive manner, including effective resolution of customer complaints. Fills customer orders by preparing specialty drinks and beverages and by properly stocking pastry and other display cases. Builds sales through sampling, suggestive selling and other sales techniques Cleans and maintains coffee bar s Receives and breaks down loads. Stocks, displays and rotates product to ensure compliance with vendor and Company requirements on quality, temperature, cleanliness, selection, display and proper inventory levels to meet customer demands. Prevents the sale of out of code product. Creates effective displays for coffee, cups, pastry and other related merchandise in the coffee bar. Cleans all production equipment to maintain proper repair and order. Communicates with the Supervisor on all maintenance issues. Operates equipment such as cash register and scanner to process customer orders. Receives payment from customers for purchases and makes change. Assists customers by answering questions on product specifications and taking and filling special orders. Ensures compliance with vendor requirements. Monitors inventory and space security. Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays. Controls shrink and expenses. Maintains and organizes work and sales areas, backroom, cooler and freezer. Ensures proper merchandizing of product by understanding and implementing schematics, merchandizing of advertised items, proper signing procedures and monitoring product flow. Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately. Receives and appropriately resolves customer complaints and reports to the Supervisor as appropriate. Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately and with honesty and integrity. Other necessary and required duties.
Key Requirements:
Requires working knowledge of all job duties within the coffee bar. Ability to taste, smell and test products. Requires strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain composure in dealing with customers, vendors and co-workers. Ability to describe products and educate customers on coffee and related merchandise. Ability to judge and react to business activity. Must have knowledge of product quality, variety, standards, storage, sanitation and labeling. Requires knowledge of basic mathematics and measurements. Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary. Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities. Operates mixers, coffee makers and other production equipment. Utilizes cleaning supplies and equipment. Utilizes safety cutters, compactors and register equipment. May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Scheduled hours will vary. Good attendance is required. Physical Environment Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to cutting equipment, coffee makers, mixers and other work aids necessary to perform job duties. Exposure of up to 350˚ Fahrenheit while brewing, maintaining, and mixing hot drinks. Exposure to 35˚ to 40˚ Fahrenheit while handling products in cooler. Exposure to -20˚ Fahrenheit while handling products in freezer. Incumbent may perform any number of physical activities to accomplish assigned duties, such as walking and standing (90% of the workday), bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
