We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead the back-of-house operations of a busy, established casual restaurant. What You'll Do As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the back of house, including: Lead, coach, train, and develop kitchen team members Oversee daily food preparation and kitchen operations Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, portioning, and ticket times Ensure recipes and operating standards are followed consistently Manage kitchen scheduling and labor based on business needs Monitor food costs, waste, portion control, and inventory Oversee ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory management Maintain proper product rotation and organization Ensure the kitchen meets food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Help recruit, onboard, and retain strong kitchen employees Maintain proper staffing levels for both normal and peak business periods Work closely with restaurant management to improve operational performance Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs Maintain equipment and immediately address maintenance or operational issues Create a positive, accountable, team-oriented kitchen culture Step into production and support the team when needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a strong kitchen operator who understands that great food starts with great systems and a dependable team.
Preferred qualifications:
2+ years of kitchen management, culinary management, or restaurant leadership experience Experience in a busy casual, fast-casual, or high-volume restaurant environment Strong understanding of food cost, inventory, portion control, and waste management Experience scheduling and managing kitchen labor Ability to train, coach, and hold team members accountable Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to remain calm and organized during high-volume periods Strong communication and problem-solving skills ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred Ability to work a flexible restaurant schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed The Right Person for This Role We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their kitchen.
