School Cafeteria Manager Victory Christian Academy - 4.3 Jacksonville, FL Job Details Part-time From $16 an hour 18 hours ago Qualifications Food waste mitigation Pricing Pre-cooking preparation Materials management in food and beverage Restaurant supply ordering Full Job Description Position Summary The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the school cafeteria, including meal and afternoon snack preparation, ordering food and supplies, kitchen and cafeteria cleanliness, inventory management, vending and drink machine maintenance, and monitoring food costs. The Cafeteria Manager works closely with school administration to provide quality, cost-effective meals for students and staff. Schedule Works during regular school days and scheduled teacher in-service days. Prepares and serves lunch during the school day. Prepares and supplies pre-made afternoon snacks for K3 and K4. Follows the school calendar and schedule established by administration. Primary Responsibilities Meal & Snack Preparation Plan and prepare daily lunches according to the approved school menu. Prepare food in a timely manner to ensure meals are ready for scheduled lunch periods. Prepare and portion premade afternoon snacks for K3 and K4. Ensure K3/K4 snacks are prepared and delivered to the appropriate classrooms or designated area each afternoon. Maintain appropriate food safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures. Ensure meals and snacks are served in an organized and efficient manner. Food & Supply Management Order food, kitchen supplies, snack items, and other necessary cafeteria supplies from the following vendors: Sysco, US Foods, Coca-Cola, Sam's, and Walmart. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimize unnecessary waste. Monitor food and snack usage and adjust ordering as needed. Receive and properly store food and supplies. Maintain accurate inventory of food, beverages, and cafeteria supplies. Cost Management Monitor food and supply costs and work to maintain the cafeteria within the established budget. Track food usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and control expenses. Recommend menu or purchasing adjustments when necessary. Consult with administration before making significant changes to the menu, pricing, or purchasing practices. Food Safety & Compliance Obtain and maintain all required food safety training, certifications, permits, and credentials necessary for the position. Complete ServSafe Food Handler online training. Stay current with required food safety and sanitation training. Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, storage, preparation, and handling requirements. Maintain required food safety records and documentation. Prepare for scheduled health inspections and ensure the cafeteria is maintained in accordance with health and sanitation requirements. Maintain health inspection reports, records, and documentation, and address any required corrections or recommendations in consultation with administration. Notify administration of any food safety concerns, inspections, or compliance issues. Vending & Drink Machines Maintain and monitor school vending and drink machines. Keep machines clean, stocked, and in good working order. Monitor inventory and reorder products as needed. Report mechanical issues or maintenance needs to administration. Monitor product costs and sales as applicable. Cleaning & Maintenance Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and cafeteria. Clean cooking equipment, food preparation areas, serving areas, food warmer, tables, microwaves, food storage areas, and other kitchen spaces. Routine maintenance of kitchen equipment such as the ice machine, fryer, stovetop/gridle, and warmer. Follow established cleaning and sanitation procedures. Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to administration. Communication & Administration Communicate regularly with administration regarding menus, food costs, supplies, equipment, vending and drink machines, and any concerns affecting cafeteria operations. Provide recommendations to administration regarding menu planning, snacks, purchasing, and cafeteria needs. Maintain accurate records of food orders, inventory, and expenses as requested. General Expectations Maintain a professional, positive, and cooperative attitude. Demonstrate reliability and punctuality. Work efficiently and independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food quality, and service. Follow all school policies and procedures. Help create a welcoming, orderly, and positive cafeteria environment for students and staff. Compensation Pay is dependent upon the candidate's experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications .
Pay:
