Assistant Manager Job Overview Tasty G Spot is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Manager to help lead our growing breakfast and brunch restaurant. This leader will be responsible for maintaining exceptional guest experiences, coaching and developing team members, and ensuring smooth restaurant operations during each shift. We are looking for someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of teamwork, accountability, and hospitality. This is a working management position. Assistant Managers are expected to lead from the floor, assist wherever needed, and work alongside the team to ensure operational excellence—not simply supervise from the sidelines. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, and passionate about hospitality. We are looking for someone who can motivate a team, solve problems quickly, and help create an outstanding dining experience for every guest. 1:00 PM•Close Weekend availability is required. Responsibilities Lead daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts. Supervise and support front-of-house team members while assisting back-of-house operations when needed. Ensure every guest receives exceptional customer service and professionally resolve guest concerns. Train, coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable to company standards and expectations. Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, menu updates, and operational expectations. Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new employees. Perform all opening and closing manager responsibilities. Complete cash handling, deposits, end-of-day paperwork, and shift reports accurately. Monitor labor, productivity, and employee performance. Ensure food quality, presentation, cleanliness, sanitation, and company standards are consistently maintained. Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management. Ensure all opening duties, side work, and closing responsibilities are completed before employees leave. Step in to assist hosts, servers, bartenders, food runners, bussers, or kitchen staff whenever business demands. Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Support ownership by helping implement company policies, procedures, and operational improvements. Ensure all health department and food safety standards are followed at all times. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of restaurant management or assistant management experience in a full-service restaurant. Previous experience leading teams in a high-volume restaurant environment. Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to multitask while remaining calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of hospitality and guest service. Must be comfortable working in both Front of House and Back of House operations when needed. Reliable transportation and excellent attendance. Weekend availability is required. Food Handler Certification required (or willingness to obtain before employment). TIPS Certification is preferred. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
