Job Description

GENERAL MANAGER
Dave's Hot Chicken | FTB Services | Tampa Bay Area Dave's Hot Chicken started with four friends, $900, and a dream to make ridiculously good hot chicken. Fast-forward a few years, and Dave's is now one of the fastest-growing restaurant brands around—with a whole lot more heat, flavor, and personality than your average chicken joint. Our Tampa Bay restaurants are operated by FTB Services, a team that believes in being For the Brand. That means we show up for our people, take care of our guests, and never ask our team to do anything we wouldn't do ourselves. We're looking for a General Manager who can bring the energy, lead from the front, and keep the restaurant running like a well-oiled—well, well-seasoned—machine. What You'll Do You'll be the leader of the restaurant, the person who sets the tone, builds the team, and makes sure every shift is set up to win. That means keeping the food on point, the restaurant clean, the team moving, and the guest experience on fire. You'll coach your managers, develop your crew, solve problems in real time, and make sure the restaurant is hitting its goals without losing its personality.
  • Lead the team with confidence, positivity, and a healthy sense of urgency.
  • Hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop your management team and crew.
  • Create a work environment where people feel supported, challenged, and excited to show up.
  • Keep the restaurant running smoothly during busy shifts, peak hours, and everything in between.
  • Make sure every piece of chicken, every side, and every sauce meets Dave's standards.
  • Own guest satisfaction and turn problems into opportunities to make someone's day better.
  • Keep the restaurant clean, safe, organized, and ready for the next rush.
  • Manage sales, labor, inventory, purchasing, maintenance, and restaurant costs.
  • Use business results to make smart decisions and keep the team moving forward.
  • Make sure opening, closing, cash handling, food safety, and daily paperwork are handled correctly.
  • Coach performance, attendance, and accountability while keeping morale high.
  • Follow up on operational checks and make sure opportunities don't get ignored.
  • Build a team culture based on trust, communication, teamwork, and Grateful Hospitality.
  • Lead by example—no ego, no excuses, and no asking the team to do something you wouldn't do yourself. You Might Be Our Person If You…
  • Have experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a restaurant or fast-paced service environment.
  • Know how to lead a team without acting like a drill sergeant.
  • Can stay cool when the line is long, the kitchen is slammed, and everyone needs something at once.
  • Actually enjoy developing people and helping them level up.
  • Know that great guest experiences start with a great team.
  • Communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, and follow through.
  • Bring a positive attitude and enough energy to keep the shift moving.
  • Are comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, opening shifts, and closing shifts.
  • Have or can obtain ServSafe certification.
  • Are at least 21 years old and fluent in English.
The Real Talk This is an active, hands-on restaurant leadership job. You'll be on your feet, moving around the restaurant, working near heat, and helping wherever you're needed.
You should be comfortable with:
  • Standing and moving for extended periods.
  • Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting approximately 50-75 pounds.
  • Working in a fast-paced, high-energy restaurant.
  • Wearing the Dave's Hot Chicken uniform and showing up looking ready to lead.
  • Keeping your cool and bringing a positive attitude—even during the rush.
Why FTB Services? Because we believe restaurant leadership should be hands-on, not stuck in an office. Our ownership and leadership teams work alongside the restaurant teams, support the business, and care about doing things the right way. We're building restaurants where people work hard, have fun, grow their careers, and take care of each other. If you're ready to lead a high-energy team, serve seriously good chicken, and help make every shift a great one, bring the heat and apply today. Bring the heat and apply today.
