General Manager Profile The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of restaurant operations, including sales, guest counts, staffing, and profitability. This role is additionally responsible for establishing systems and routines that facilitate the organization of duties and assignment of responsibilities to the assistant manager and shift managers, ensuring consistent, precise, and efficient management of restaurant operations. The General Manager oversees the restaurant's Maintenance Department, ensuring that maintenance personnel remain focused on their assigned responsibilities. This position is crucial to the success of the restaurant and collaborates heavily with various professionals to ensure a high level of service. Responsibilities Restaurant Operations & Standards Execute daily and weekly Food Safety, EcoSure, PACE, Security, and Maintenance walkthroughs to ensure a "role model" restaurant. Exceed McDonald's standards during all internal and external visits. Maintain and exceed PACE, Food Safety, security, cleanliness, and operational standards Ensure restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional overall Guest Experience. Maintain an effective customer recovery process to address and resolve guest concerns. Execute the restaurant's business plan, profit goals, and operational objectives. Complete weekly result reviews, identify opportunities, and implement corrective action plans. Sales, Profitability & Business Management Review weekly sales projections with the Supervisor - brainstorm, troubleshoot, and to develop strategies. Build and execute effective crew schedules. Monitor KPIs and take action to improve performance. Complete one Shift Verification per manager each week to evaluate execution, provide feedback, and improve KPIs. Conduct weekly business results meetings with the management team and provide clear direction for improvement. Prepare and communicate restaurant results, opportunities, and action plans to the Supervisor and leadership team. Staffing, Talent & Retention Staff the restaurant to the appropriate crew size. Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees aligned with J-Quint and McDonald's standards while maintaining a strong focus on current talent and retention. Conduct interviews with new recruits and ensure qualified candidates receive a structured new hire training plan. Follow up with employees through 30-60-90 day interviews to support engagement, development, and retention. Develop and maintain active, effective Crew Trainers who support consistent training and employee development. Partner with J-Quint to hire, train, and retain top talent. Leadership & Management Development Provide daily and weekly communication with the Supervisor regarding restaurant performance, staffing, and development priorities. Conduct regular follow-ups aligned with J-Quint's standards with Shift Managers to ensure accountability and consistent execution. Actively participate in the management development program and support the development of future leaders. Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capabilities and improve restaurant performance. Hold the management team accountable for achieving operational, financial, and people development goals. Personal Development & Additional Responsibilities Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Stay current on McDonald's systems, standards, procedures, and best practices. Complete ad-hoc tasks to support the restaurant. Demonstrate a positive attitude and take ownership of the role with professionalism, pride, and commitment to excellence. Qualifications 5+ years of General Management experience working in a QSR environment; McDonald's experience highly preferred. Strong knowledge of Food Safety, PACE, EcoSure, Security, Maintenance, and operational standards. Strong working knowledge of McDonald's systems, standards, procedures, and operating practices highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead a restaurant team and consistently achieve operational, financial, staffing, and guest experience goals, Proven ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining a positive, respectful, and development-focused work environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
