Kava Bar Manager Steep Station Position Overview Steep Station is looking for a motivated, dependable, and people-focused Kava Bar Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of one of our St Pete location. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who takes pride in creating a welcoming environment, developing their team, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales. Our managers are hands-on leaders. You will be expected to lead by example, work alongside your team, maintain high standards, and take ownership of the overall success of your location. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team of baristas / kavatenders and shift staff. Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, customer service, and company policies. Create a positive, energetic, and team-oriented work environment. Train new employees and ensure team members are properly trained on products, procedures, POS systems, and customer service standards. Build strong relationships with both employees and customers. Recognize and reward strong performance while addressing performance issues appropriately. Daily Store Operations Oversee all daily operations of the location, including opening and closing procedures. Ensure the store is clean, organized, properly stocked, and operating efficiently. Maintain company standards for product quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer experience. Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs. Ensure cash handling, deposits, POS procedures, and other financial controls are followed. Address operational issues quickly and communicate significant concerns to upper management. Ensure all company policies and procedures are consistently followed. Sales & Customer Experience Take ownership of store sales and actively work to grow the business. Lead the team in creating an exceptional customer experience. Coach employees on product knowledge, suggestive selling, upselling, and building customer relationships. Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve results. Help create a fun, welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. Build relationships with regular customers and help develop a strong local customer base. Scheduling & Staffing Create and maintaining employee schedules based on business needs. Ensure appropriate staffing levels during peak and slower periods. Monitor attendance, punctuality, and employee performance. Help minimize unnecessary overtime while ensuring the store is properly staffed. Assist with recruiting and interviewing potential team members when needed. Compliance & Safety Ensure employees follow all applicable company policies and procedures. Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Follow all applicable health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements. Properly document and communicate employee or operational issues. What We're Looking For Previous management or supervisory experience preferred. Hospitality, restaurant, bar, retail, or customer-service management experience is a plus. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to motivate and hold a team accountable. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Sales-minded with a desire to grow the business. Reliable, professional, and dependable. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be willing to work hands-on solo and alongside the team and jump in wherever needed. The Right Person We're looking for someone who doesn't simply manage the shift ... they own the store.
