We are currently looking for Pastry Cooks to join our kitchen team. Both full-time and part-time positions are available. This is a hands-on production position for someone who genuinely loves pastry, enjoys detailed work, and wants to continue developing their skills in a professional pastry kitchen. Everything at Sucré Table is made from scratch in-house. Our pastry team works with raw ingredients to produce our doughs, creams, custards, mousses, ganaches, compotes, fillings, sauces, cakes, and pastry components. This is a true production kitchen where you will be involved in the process from beginning to finished product. Schedule & Availability Our pastry kitchen operates Tuesday through Sunday . Opening shifts begin at 4:30 AM. Afternoon shifts begin at 10:00 AM. We are specifically looking for candidates with weekend availability . Applicants should be comfortable with an early-morning bakery schedule and understand that weekends are an important part of our business. Full-time and part-time schedules are available depending on experience and availability. About Sucré Table Founded by professionally trained pastry chef Brenda Villacorta, Sucré Table was created to bring an elevated and modern approach to pastry to Tampa Bay. Our menu changes throughout the year and includes individual desserts, tarts, cakes, laminated pastries, cookies, savory pastries, and seasonal specialties. We believe that quality begins with the ingredients and the process. Our products and pastry components are made from scratch in our kitchen , with a strong focus on technique, flavor, consistency, and presentation. The Position As a Pastry Cook, you will work alongside our pastry team to prepare, assemble, finish, and maintain the quality of our daily pastry production. This is not simply an assembly position. You will be working directly with ingredients and learning the different components and techniques that go into creating our products from start to finish.
Responsibilities Include:
Producing pastry components from scratch , including custards, creams, curds, mousses, ganaches, compotes, fillings, glazes, sauces, and other preparations Producing and assembling individual desserts, tarts, cakes, and seasonal pastries Preparing cake layers, fillings, frostings, and components for specialty cake production Preparing doughs, laminating, batters, and other pastry components as assigned Finishing and decorating pastries according to Sucré Table's presentation standards Preparing garnishes and final components for daily service Accurately scaling ingredients and following recipes Maintaining consistency in flavor, texture, portioning, and presentation Following daily production lists and completing assigned tasks according to priority Preparing mise en place for current and upcoming production Assisting with new and seasonal menu production Checking finished products for quality before they are placed into service Properly labeling, dating, rotating, and storing ingredients and finished products Maintaining clean and organized refrigerators, freezers, dry storage, and workstations Monitoring ingredient and product levels and communicating production needs to the team Properly using and caring for pastry and kitchen equipment Maintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout the entire shift Participating in daily and scheduled deep cleaning Supporting other members of the pastry and bakery team as needed Following all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, organized, efficient, and genuinely interested in the craft of pastry. Because we produce everything from scratch, this position is best suited for someone who wants to understand and participate in the entire pastry-making process rather than simply assembling finished components. Pastry requires patience and precision. Small details matter, and consistency is extremely important in our kitchen.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Previous pastry, bakery, restaurant, or culinary experience Professional pastry experience preferred Culinary or pastry school experience is a plus, but not required Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and terminology Experience with scratch pastry production is preferred Experience with creams, custards, mousses, ganaches, cakes, tarts, or similar pastry production is a plus Ability to accurately follow weight-based recipes Strong attention to detail and consistency Good organization and time-management skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment Ability to follow a production schedule and prioritize tasks Ability to work independently once properly trained Ability to accept direction and constructive feedback Strong communication and teamwork skills Reliable attendance and punctuality Weekend availability Ability to work early-morning shifts beginning at 4:30 AM if opener This is a physically active kitchen position. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods, working around ovens and refrigeration, and lifting and carrying typical kitchen ingredients, trays, and equipment.
