Assistant Manager - Closing Shift Hourly Pay + Tips Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, dependable, and energetic Assistant Manager to lead our restaurant team during closing shifts . This hands-on leadership position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment and takes pride in finishing each day strong. As an Assistant Manager, you will oversee evening operations, support the front- and back-of-house teams, maintain food quality and safety standards, provide excellent guest service, and ensure all closing procedures are completed accurately and efficiently. This is a paid hourly position with tips included in addition to the hourly rate , providing additional earning potential based on business volume. Responsibilities Lead restaurant operations during evening and closing shifts Manage closing procedures and ensure the restaurant is properly cleaned, organized, stocked, and secured at the end of the night Supervise team members and maintain an efficient service flow during busy periods Ensure guests receive friendly, attentive, and professional service Train and coach employees on food preparation, customer service, POS procedures, cleanliness, and food safety Monitor food quality, portioning, presentation, and proper food handling Oversee closing cleaning and sanitation procedures for front- and back-of-house areas Ensure compliance with health department regulations, sanitation requirements, and food safety standards Complete cash handling responsibilities, including register reconciliation and end-of-night reporting Monitor inventory levels, product usage, waste, and proper storage of food and supplies Ensure closing prep and stocking are completed so the restaurant is properly prepared for the following day Address guest concerns and resolve service issues professionally Provide direction, motivation, and accountability to team members throughout the shift Assist with employee training and development Communicate maintenance, staffing, inventory, or operational concerns to management Complete a final walkthrough to ensure all closing responsibilities have been completed before leaving the restaurant Skills & Qualifications Previous restaurant, quick-service, fast-casual, or hospitality experience required Previous supervisory, shift lead, or management experience preferred Strong understanding of restaurant closing procedures Knowledge of food preparation, food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices Comfortable using restaurant POS systems and handling cash Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities Ability to coach employees and hold team members accountable Strong attention to detail, particularly when completing closing procedures Ability to remain organized and effective in a fast-paced environment Experience with kitchen operations, catering, banquets, or high-volume restaurants is a plus Must be dependable and consistently available for evening and closing shifts We are looking for someone who is willing to lead from the floor , support the team wherever needed, and take ownership of the restaurant through the end of the night.
