Job Overview The Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing all catering operations, ensuring the timely production, quality, and delivery of food for customers and events. This role manages catering staff, coordinates with production and logistics teams, maintains food safety compliance, and ensures exceptional customer service while meeting company profitability goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee daily catering operations from order receipt through delivery and event execution. Coordinate with food production teams to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on schedule. Develop and maintain production schedules based on catering demands. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing needs with vendors and suppliers. Ensure catering equipment, vehicles, and facilities are maintained and operational. Customer Service & Sales Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients. Consult with customers regarding menu selections, event requirements, and special requests. Prepare catering proposals, contracts, and pricing estimates. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. Develop relationships with clients to support repeat business and customer retention. Team Leadership Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise catering staff, including coordinators, drivers, servers, and production personnel. Conduct employee performance discussions and provide coaching and development. Ensure proper staffing levels for events and production requirements. Foster a positive, safety-focused work environment. Food Safety & Compliance Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations. Ensure adherence to HACCP, sanitation, and company food safety standards. Conduct regular inspections of food handling, storage, and transportation procedures. Ensure all staff are trained in food safety and workplace safety procedures. Financial Management Manage catering budgets and labor costs. Monitor food costs, waste, and inventory shrinkage. Review invoices and approve catering-related expenses. Track sales performance and identify opportunities for growth and profitability. Event Coordination Manage all logistical aspects of catered events. Coordinate delivery schedules, setup requirements, staffing assignments, and equipment needs. Ensure successful execution of events and maintain quality standards. Conduct post-event reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of catering, food service, or hospitality management experience. Strong knowledge of food production, food safety standards, and catering operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and catering software. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to event locations as required.
