This role requires hands-on leadership to train and develop a professional team, maintain operational excellence, and ensure financial goals are met. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the private club or hospitality sector and demonstrate a strong commitment to member satisfaction.
Responsibilities Event Operations:
Coordinate and oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet events to meet the specifications of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Ensure all function spaces are maintained to the highest standards before, during, and after events. Oversee the breakdown of function spaces post-event, ensuring proper storage of equipment and materials. Maintain inventory of banquet supplies, including china, glassware, silverware, linens, and props, and assist the Catering Sales Director with linen inventory and ordering. Monitor and manage beverage service, including inventory and compliance with alcohol laws.
Member and Guest Experience:
Build relationships with members to understand their expectations and preferences for events. Anticipate guest needs and ensure prompt and professional service during events. Handle and resolve guest complaints with a focus on satisfaction and service recovery.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, interview, hire, and schedule banquet staff to meet event and operational needs. Train new team members upon onboarding and provide continuous training to the banquet operations team to maintain service excellence. Ensure team members complete pre-shift responsibilities and post-shift breakdown tasks to meet operational standards. Monitor and develop team member performance, providing supervision, coaching, and recognition to foster a positive and productive environment. Catering Sales Director:
Partner with the Catering Sales Director to review BEOs, ensuring all member and guest requirements are met. Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by the Catering Sales Director. Provide feedback post-event to refine processes and exceed member expectations.
Financial Management:
Manage controllable expenses to align with budget goals. Assist in developing strategies to grow revenue and retain member business. Skills Proficient in event planning and management systems. Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with members and staff. Flexible and adaptable to meet the dynamic needs of private club events. Working knowledge of food and beverage service standards, banquet setup techniques, and safety protocols. Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale systems. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Familiarity with Club Essential, Reserve Cloud & All Seated preferred.
