Position Summary:
The Operations Manager will have a strong background in cold chain supply and warehouse distribution. They will possess robust financial acumen in forecasting and budgeting, along with proven expertise in managing a fast-paced work environment. This role requires a hands-on leader who can efficiently oversee day-to-day inventory, receiving and shipping processes, while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and optimizing labor management to meet key performance indicators (KPIs). This position will cover the 2nd shift team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support for
Operations :
Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, receiving, and shipping processes Maintain inventory accuracy of 99% or better Develop, monitor, and manage budgets and forecasts related to warehouse operations Establish and track KPIs to meet or exceed financial and labor management goals Employee schedules and PTO through established payroll systems Identify and promote standout team members while hiring to maintain productivity Ensure compliance with food safety requirements, including BRCGS, SQF, HACCP, and OSHA regulations Manage the blast freezing process to meet FSIS requirements Draft, train, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and oversee corrective actions for customer claims Proficiently use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanning technologies to optimize operations Perform daily yard checks and refrigeration system checks to ensure optimal conditions. Maintain clear communication with the General Manager and provide timely updates on operations Establish a daily cadence with the warehouse team focusing on safety and workload. Effectively communicate with customers, maintaining professional etiquette and resolving issues as they arise. Be available to fill in for the General Manager when needed and travel to other locations if required.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with the Operations Team. Foster a collaborative environment within the team and other divisions to enhance overall performance. Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear guidance and support.
