This leadership role works closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Director of Beverage to oversee inventory, staff development, beverage quality, and overall bar performance. Located in the heart of the city, we blend timeless culinary standards with a refined, modern atmosphere. Our team is dedicated to delivering excellence in every dish and creating memorable guest experiences through genuine service and deliberate attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage liquor, beer, wine, and bar supply orders while following approved order guides and case deals. Maintain inventory levels, complete scheduled inventories, and monitor pour costs, waste, and product variances. Review invoices and R365 pricing weekly; resolve discrepancies with vendors. Coordinate seasonal menu changes, new product orders, and maintain strong vendor relationships. Ensure adequate glassware, bar supplies, and event inventory are always available. Communicate inventory issues and special purchases with the Director of Beverage and restaurant management. Prepare and post weekly schedules with management approval. Lead, coach, train, and hold bartenders accountable to Ray's service standards. Coordinate beverage education and new hire training with the Director of Beverage. Assist with hiring, onboarding, retraining, and performance management. Lead by example and support bar operations whenever needed. Meet bi-weekly with the Director of Beverage to review bar performance. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and quarterly deep-cleaning schedules. Ensure proper stocking, pars, and maintenance of all bar areas. Partner with management to resolve operational and maintenance concerns. Monitor training progress, pour accuracy, and overall bar performance. Provide beverage-related content for marketing initiatives when requested. Participate in beverage photo shoots and promotional events.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proper documentation. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a dynamic restaurant schedule. Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs., bend, climb, and reach overhead. Strong communication skills and a warm, professional demeanor. Ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team. A genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences. Previous bartending and leadership experience required. Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in service, mixology and order taking.
