Job Description
Job Overview Gnat's Landing is seeking an experienced, hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our Back-of-House operations. This position combines kitchen leadership with administrative responsibilities and plays a key role in developing the BOH team, maintaining operational excellence, and supporting the overall success of the restaurant. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader who enjoys coaching and developing people, maintaining high food quality and safety standards, improving kitchen operations, and creating an exceptional dining experience through consistent execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Key Responsibilities Lead all Back-of-House operations to ensure efficient, consistent daily execution. Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop Back-of-House team members. Create and manage BOH schedules while maintaining appropriate staffing levels. Coach employees through performance evaluations, feedback, and accountability. Maintain company standards for food quality, recipe execution, portioning, and presentation. Manage food ordering, inventory, vendor relationships, and food cost performance. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations. Coordinate equipment maintenance and maintain an organized, inspection-ready kitchen. Partner with Front-of-House leadership to deliver an exceptional guest experience. Monitor labor, inventory, and operational performance while implementing continuous improvements. Build a positive, accountable kitchen culture while developing future BOH leaders. Schedule Expectations 45-50 hours per week 15-20 hours of operational floor leadership 25-30 hours of administrative responsibilities Qualifications Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or similar Back-of-House leadership role required. Strong leadership, coaching, organizational, and communication skills. Experience managing food cost, labor, inventory, ordering, Toast KDS, and overall kitchen operations. Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require. Why Join Gnat's Landing?
