Kitchen Manager — Hamburg Inn No. 2 Hamburg Inn No. 2 is hiring a Kitchen Manager to support our Chef and lead day-to-day kitchen operations. Hamburg Inn is a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant with a long history in Iowa City. We're focused on consistency, speed, and creating a kitchen environment where people can do great work and take pride in what they produce. The Kitchen Manager works directly under the Chef and plays a key role in execution, organization, and team leadership on a daily basis. What You'll Do Support the Chef in daily kitchen operations and service execution Lead and coach line cooks and prep team members Ensure food is consistently prepared to spec and quality standards Maintain strong systems for prep, pars, and station organization Manage ordering, inventory, and basic cost controls Help build schedules and ensure proper staffing levels Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards Step into service leadership during busy shifts What We're Looking For Prior experience in a kitchen leadership role (Kitchen Manager, Lead Line, or Sous Chef) Ability to run a high-volume service with consistency and composure Strong organizational skills and attention to detail A hands-on leader who leads by example Clear communicator who works well with both BOH and FOH Reliable, accountable, and solution-oriented What We Offer Competitive wage (based on experience) Performance-based growth opportunities A stable, high-volume operation with strong systems in place Opportunity to grow within a multi-concept restaurant group Staff meals and dining discounts
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
