This full-time position requires a strong leader who can manage food preparation, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and create a positive dining experience for students and staff. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for inventory management, kitchen oversight, and staff supervision while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and school policies.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse dietary needs of students.
- Collaborate with school administration to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food service regulations.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring meals meet established standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and staff schedules.
- Engage with students and staff to gather feedback and improve meal offerings.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities to stay current with food service trends and regulations. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in inventory management and menu planning.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to providing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs of students.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings.
