Part-Time House Manager / Family Assistant We are looking for a warm, highly organized, proactive and dependable person to help manage our home and keep day-to-day family life running smoothly. This is primarily a household management/family assistant position, with occasional childcare for one 10-year-old girl and care for one small dog. We are looking for someone who naturally notices what needs to be done and takes care of it without needing a detailed list or constant direction. ScheduleApproximately 15-25 hours per week3-5 days per week, approximately 5 hours per dayTiming can be flexible and mutually agreed upon. Occasional evening or overnight availability would be helpful when parents are traveling, with advance notice. Responsibilities Household Management Proactively oversee the day-to-day needs of the household Notice and address things that need attention without waiting to be asked Maintain household organization and help create systems that keep the home running efficiently Schedule and coordinate household service providers, repair people and vendors Be available to meet service providers at the house when necessary Keep track of household maintenance needs and follow through on projects Manage household supplies and restock items before they run out Handle miscellaneous household errands and returns Help maintain household calendars, appointments and schedules as needed Grocery Shopping & Meal Preparation Grocery shopping and maintaining an organized, well-stocked kitchen Plan and prepare simple, healthy family meals Wash and prep fruits, vegetables and other ingredients Keep refrigerator and pantry organized Monitor staples and create shopping lists Clean and reset the kitchen after food preparation Organization Regularly organize closets, drawers, cabinets, pantry and storage areas Identify items that should be donated, discarded or relocated Maintain established organizational systems Take ownership of occasional larger organization projects Laundry & Light Housekeeping Family laundry, folding and putting clothing away Light tidying and daily household resets Keeping commonly used rooms neat and organized Loading/unloading dishwasher and keeping kitchen surfaces tidy This is not intended to replace regular professional house cleaning; the focus is on maintaining the home between cleanings and keeping things organized and running smoothly. Childcare Occasional supervision of one 10-year-old girl Occasional transportation or help with activities if needed Prepare meals or snacks when she is home Provide occasional evening or overnight childcare when parents are away Overnight requests would generally be planned in advance Pet Care Care for one small, friendly dog Short walks as needed Feeding and making sure food and pet supplies are stocked Occasional coordination of grooming or veterinary appointments Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is: Extremely organized and detail-oriented Proactive and comfortable working independently Someone who sees what needs to be done and simply handles it Dependable and punctual Warm, discreet and trustworthy Comfortable around children and dogs A good communicator Resourceful and willing to troubleshoot household issues Flexible when household priorities change Interested in becoming a trusted, long-term part of our family's support system Previous experience as a house manager, family assistant, personal assistant, nanny/house manager, hospitality professional or similar role is preferred. Candidate should have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and excellent references. Compensation$35-$40/hour, depending upon experience and qualifications. Approximately 15-25 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Occasional overnight childcare compensated separately.
