This position is ideal for an experienced cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on additional leadership and training responsibilities. This is a working kitchen position . You will spend your shifts cooking, prepping, cleaning, and helping keep the kitchen running smoothly. You will also assist with training new kitchen employees and maintaining our standards for food quality, cleanliness, and food safety. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items accurately and efficiently Complete daily food prep, including slicing, dicing, portioning, and preparing ingredients Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion standards Follow and reinforce proper food safety and sanitation procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen Opening and closing kitchen responsibilities Train and support new kitchen employees Work closely with the owners and management team Complete cleaning and other kitchen duties as needed What This Position Does NOT Include This position is focused on hands-on kitchen operations and staff development . The Assistant Kitchen Manager is not responsible for inventory management, food ordering or vendor relationships. What We're Looking For Previous cooking or commercial kitchen experience required Valid Food Handlers License with the ability to obtain a Certified Food Service Manager License within 3 months of hire Previous shift-lead, supervisory, or kitchen leadership experience preferred Dependable and able to work independently once trained Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen Able to train, coach, and work alongside newer employees Strong attention to cleanliness, food safety, and food quality Able to remain organized and productive during high-volume shifts Night and weekend availability is required Schedule This position averages approximately 30-35 hours per week . Additional hours may be available during our busy bowling season, October through April . Because nights and weekends are some of our busiest times, applicants must have regular availability during those periods. Why Potter's Alley? Pay:
$22.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 35.0 per week
