Job Description
The Baking Institute Bakery is a woman-owned wholesale bakery in Wheeling, Illinois. We make everything from scratch and we deliver seven days a week on our own trucks. We are hiring an Assistant Production Manager to run the production day alongside our Plant Manager. This is a daytime position. The shift is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no overnight start and no weekend work. What you will do You build the daily production plan and adjust it as the day changes. You direct the bakers and packers who run that plan. You hold the team to our production and food safety standards. You work on the floor with the team, so this is a hands-on position and not a desk job. What we are looking for You have two or more years of experience on a production floor in a bakery, commissary, or high-volume kitchen. You have built a daily production plan and directed a team against it. You are comfortable holding people accountable for their work. Spanish is helpful but it is not required. This is a good next step for someone who has been running a station or a shift and is ready for more responsibility. Schedule and pay The shift is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Most weeks run 35 to 45 hours. Pay is $22 to $26 per hour, plus overtime. Benefits We offer health insurance, dental insurance, and paid time off.
