Kilwins Burr Ridge is hiring an Assistant Manager to help lead our team at the Burr Ridge Village Center! We are looking for a dependable, hands-on team member ready to step into a leadership role. Running shifts, helping with inventory, handling cash and register operations, and setting the tone for great customer service.

This is a working position:

you will be on the floor scooping, packaging, and helping customers alongside the crew. You'll work closely with the owners, who will train you on the parts of the business you haven't done before. The Assistant Manager reports directly to the owner-operators and is expected to have open availability, including weekday daytime and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays. This is not a seasonal position. We are seeking candidates who are upbeat and friendly, reliable, organized, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the confidence to lead a shift and hold others accountable.

set the standard for hospitality and product quality every shift Act as the leader on duty when scheduled: open or close the store, direct the crew on the floor, and keep service quick, friendly, and accurate Operate the cash register and POS system, count drawers at open and close, and report any discrepancies to the owners Assist with inventory: check in deliveries, rotate stock, keep product organized in the back, complete counts, and let the owners know when items are running low Help make and package fudge, brittle, caramel apples, chocolates, and ice cream to Kilwins recipe and presentation standards Help train new crew members using Kilwins training tools and resources Keep cases and displays full, fresh, and guest-ready throughout the shift Assist customers with special requests and custom orders such as gift baskets and event orders Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code standards, and help hold the team to them Complete daily paperwork and shift reports accurately Step in wherever needed: scooping, packaging, restocking, making confections, and cleaning alongside the crew What You'll Learn This role is designed to grow. With training from the owners, you'll take on more over time, including: Placing product orders and managing reorder levels Building the weekly schedule and covering callouts Tracking sales, labor, and product costs Planning for holidays and busy seasons Interviewing and onboarding new team members Basic Employee Functions Must be available to work daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts Must be able to communicate clearly with customers and staff, and give direction to crew members Must be able to follow and enforce company policies and procedures Must be able to follow recipes and product preparation instructions Must be able to accurately review, record, and report store information including sales, counts, and cash totals Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Must be able to operate cash register and POS system Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as scooping ice cream and packaging products Must be able to reach items from low shelves and overhead storage Must be able to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store Must follow all food safety and sanitation practices Qualifications Some retail, food service, or hospitality experience Prior keyholder or shift lead experience is a plus, but not required. Comfortable with basic math and cash handling Food handler certification a plus, training is provided and paid. Must be 18 or older
