Groomsville Popcorn is seeking a dependable, hands-on Food Production & Market Manager to help oversee day-to-day production and farmers market operations. This position combines production leadership, inventory management, equipment troubleshooting, and off-site market responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, comfortable leading others, and willing to work alongside the production team. This person must also be comfortable driving a company van while towing a trailer and working an early Saturday schedule during farmers market season. Primary Responsibilities Production, Food Safety, and Inventory Monitor ingredient, packaging, and finished-product inventory and order supplies as needed. Oversee production employees and help ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently. Work directly in popcorn production and packaging alongside the team. Maintain consistent product quality and ensure production and storage areas remain clean, organized, and food-safe. Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and unnecessary overproduction. Follow and enforce all food-safety, sanitation, and company procedures. Maintain ServSafe certification. Candidates may be hired before becoming certified but must be willing to obtain certification after hire. Provide direction and support to production and market employees. Communicate production needs, inventory concerns, staffing issues, and equipment problems to ownership. Help train new employees on production, sanitation, equipment, and market procedures. Farmers Markets and Events Drive a company van and trailer to farmers markets and events. Lead Saturday morning loading and setup for two farmers markets, then work at the Fishers Farmers Market. Oversee market teardown and return equipment to the production facility. Reset, organize, and restock the van and trailer after each market. Work additional weekday farmers markets or special events as scheduled. Represent Groomsville Popcorn professionally with customers, market organizers, and other vendors. Equipment and Facility Support Learn to operate and maintain Groomsville Popcorn's production equipment. Assist with diagnosing routine equipment problems and perform basic troubleshooting or minor repairs after training. Notify ownership when equipment requires outside repair or additional service. Help ensure company vehicles, trailers, market equipment, and production equipment are properly maintained. Schedule This is a full-time position that generally works approximately 40 hours per week.

Tuesday-Friday:

approximately 8:00/9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday:

approximately 4:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Regular days off:

Sunday and Monday. Some overtime may be available or required during busy production weeks, farmers markets, or special events. November-December Seasonal Schedule Seasonal schedule notice: For approximately five weeks during November and December, Groomsville Popcorn employees transition out of regular farmers markets and into working at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt. Workdays and hours may change based on the Christkindlmarkt schedule and the company's production and staffing needs. Candidates must be flexible to work a temporarily adjusted schedule that may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours. The regular Tuesday-Saturday schedule and Sunday/Monday days off may not apply during this period. Qualifications Previous experience in food production, food service, inventory management, retail management, operations, or team leadership is preferred. Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Comfortable driving a van while towing a trailer. Available and willing to work an early Saturday schedule. Willing to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification. Ability to organize inventory and accurately track product and supply needs. Basic mechanical ability and willingness to learn equipment troubleshooting. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make reasonable day-to-day decisions. Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and availability for farmers markets, special events, and the Carmel Christkindlmarkt schedule. Physical Requirements Stand and work on your feet for extended periods. Bend, reach, lift, load, and unload products and equipment. Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Work indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions during markets and events. Assist with setting up and taking down tents, tables, displays, and market equipment. Compensation and Benefits Starting pay of $22 per hour, negotiable based on relevant experience. Approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime.
